Christmas Party Caricatures

Here is another selection of my live event work featuring caricatures of the staff of Tetra Pak Canada, who held their Christmas party last evening up in Kleinburg. It was a fun event and I believe I sketched just over fifty caricatures over the space of about six hours or so. Many thanks to Catherine Klasios for hiring me for the evening!

MASS APPEAL

Check out the last piece from the NY collection. Andy Mass from back in the day came in, after a 5 year break from getting tattooed, to get a skull to fill his upper arm.

Children find the young character very appealing for several reasons. First of all, he is actually a young boy, something that appeals to all younger audiences. He is also a Ninja with special abilities and secret powers, such as the ability to clone himself. The Jutsu Shadow Cloning technique is an ability he discovered while facing Mizuki at the very beginning of the characters quest. Finally, it is a story to be followed over many episodes in a series, enticing young minds to wait for the next episode in order to find out what happens next. Pretty much the same way soap operas leave their audiences hanging until the next chapter. We should also mention the appealing image of the characters themselves, such as their personality, the fashion of their clothes and the plot behind the adventures in every episode.

Of all the popular manga series made in Japan, Naruto episodes have managed to gather the largest following. The storyline follows the life of a Ninja fighter called Uzumaki Naruto. His goal in life is to become the chief of his home town, Hokage. The simple to follow storyline and enthusiasm displayed by the main characters have successfully captured the interest of an entire generation, regardless of gender and age. Fans of the Naruto anime series have built an online community, which includes discussion forums, movie clip sites and free online game websites.

Only a handful of sites include free Naruto games to play online. These games are browser based, made in the flash platform. Thus, no special hardware or software is required to be installed or downloaded to your computer. Flash code allows programmers to include some of the animations fans get to see in the television series and incorporate them into game play. Though rudimentary in design and graphic resolution, they manage to capture the feeling for the anime series and bring some of the fun and excitement into the players computer.

Naruto, the main character of the popular Anime show "Naruto Shippuden" has several arsenals at his disposal. One of them is his huge amount of chakra given to him by the nine tailed beast, the demon fox, and another would be the huge amount of healing power it gives him.

In episode 156 of Naruto Shippuden. It has been revealed that the Sage Mode, a whole new category of Jutsu that seems to surpass ninjutsu, accelerates further Naruto's healing ability. As shown in the episode, Naruto hears this fact and generates an idea in his mind which he later on practiced without Lord Fukasaku's knowledge.

Even though obvious details that would give away the nature of the Jutsu have been purposely hidden, there are several clues we could expand on. The first one is that it was a Jutsu, mentioned in earlier episodes, given to Naruto by Itachi Uchiha with implications that it could be used to defeat Sasuke Uchiha. The second is that there was a gigantic plume of smoke about Naruto after he was shown using it.

Sasuke and Suigetsu go on an Orochimaru's test subject butt kicking spree. At Sasuke's request, none of the test subjects are killed. Then the search for Jugo commences with Karin at the lead searching for signs of his chakra. She takes the opportunity to trick Suigetsu into walking down the wrong path while she steals some private time along with Sasuke.

Though nothing particularly interesting happens during this private time, Karin leads Sasuke to where Jugo is kept. Jugo leaves his prison with a ferocity of bloodlust, planning to kill Sasuke. Sasuke has another plan in mind. Instead of fighting, he'd rather be diplomatic and talk to Jugo about joining his group. Jugo, however, is reluctant to leave the hideout. The episode tapers off mid-fight between Sasuke and Jugo. The next episode will surely cover the reason that Jugo does not want to leave the North hideout.

Sasuke takes Karin and Suigetsu to go find Jugo in the North hideout. As when Sasuke went to recruit Karen, Suigetsu asks Sasuke why he wants to recruit Jugo. Jugo is known to be a blood thirst killing machine when the curse mark takes over. Apparently, Sasuke seems some advantage in having Jugo's strength on his side. Or perhaps it's the fact that Jugo is the originator of the curse mark.

Suigetsu and Karin are still reluctant to admit that they're following Sasuke of their own will. They both insist that they have other plans and that following along with Sasuke somehow will help them to reach their goals. It seems pretty obvious that they will stick with him til the end though.

They reach the North hideout to find that all of the guards have been slain and Orochimaru's test subjects have escaped. Despite their escape, the test subjects seem to be lingering around, taking over the hideout. However, Jugo is still locked up inside. Apparently, all of Orochimaru's other test subjects are afraid of him.
